‘Shameful’: Jewish American groups respond to Trump’s ‘shithole’ comment on immigrants

Jewish American groups on Thursday denounced U.S. President Donald Trump for his latest comments against immigrants, which have caused a political storm in Washington and beyond. In a conversation with senators on a newly drafted immigration bill, Trump reportedly said “Why do we want all these people from Africa here? They’re shithole countries … We should have more people from Norway.”

Ron Klein, chair of the Jewish Democratic Council, condemned the “ugly and racist language,” that was reported used, and said Trump’s comments were “but one more instance in a long record of seemingly racist and anti-Semitic statements that have come out of this president and this administration.”
