Jewish Dems Express Concern Over Government Shutdown

Washington, DC – Today, the Executive Director of the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) Halie Soifer issued the following statement expressing concern over the potential government shutdown:

“JDCA is deeply concerned about President Trump’s reckless insistence on more than $5 billion in taxpayer funding for an unnecessary border wall. The president is leading the U.S. government to a halt, and it’s reprehensible.

The looming government shutdown is the result of a fundamental failure in leadership by President Trump and Republicans in Congress. A shutdown will have serious ramifications for everyday Americans. We strongly encourage concerned citizens to contact their members of Congress and urge them to speak out against this shutdown.”
