Jewish Dems Condemn Trump’s Insurrection

WASHINGTON – Following the violent protests and storming of the U.S. Capitol, Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) CEO Halie Soifer released the following statement:

“Jewish Dems condemn the storming of the Capitol by domestic terrorists who launched an insurrection incited by President Donald Trump. Earlier in the day, Trump repeated false claims about the election and encouraged his supporters to go to the Capitol to thwart the peaceful and constitutionally-mandated transfer of power.

“President Trump has abused his power, endangered American lives, and undermined our democratic institutions. Today, he intentionally jeopardized security at the Capitol to further his depraved autocratic agenda, risking the lives of the Vice President and Republican and Democratic lawmakers. Donald Trump was impeached by Congress for abuse of power one year ago, and today he should be immediately removed from office for sedition, insurrection, and abuse of power.

“We applaud soon-to-be Senate Majority Leader Schumer and Speaker Pelosi for their leadership, and stand with all members of Congress as they resume their critical work certifying Joe Biden’s unequivocal and democratic win as the 46th President of the United States.”
