Jewish Dems Applaud Bipartisan Trump Impeachment Vote, Urge Swift Senate Action

WASHINGTON – Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) CEO Halie Soifer released the following statement commending the House of Representatives for a bipartisan vote to impeach President Trump today:

“Donald Trump will forever be remembered as the only U.S. president to be impeached twice. He is deserving of that unique distinction and shame.

“Trump endangered American security and directly threatened our democracy, inciting a violent and unsuccessful insurrection to stop the peaceful transition of power, and he must be held accountable.

“Trump swore an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic, and became one of those enemies. It is therefore incumbent on the Senate to take swift action to convict Trump of his crimes and ensure he can never run for office again.

“America deserves better than the abomination that was the Trump presidency.”
