JDCA’s Feinberg asks DNC chair about midterm efforts
On Thursday, December 14, 2017, DNC Chairman Tom Perez hosted a conference call in recognition and celebration of Hanukkah with Jewish leaders and activists from across the United States. During that call, Dede Feinberg, JDCA Board Member and Chair of the Governance Committee, asked the Chairman Tom Perez what the DNC was doing in Arizona and Nevada with respect to the Congressional campaigns in those two specific states.
In response to Ms. Feinberg’s question, Chairman Perez reinforced the importance of organizing on the ground, early in a campaign, and in every zip code. He noted that there are great opportunities to win in Arizona, and in Nevada, by supporting and organizing for candidates who are leading with their Democratic and progressive values. He pointed to the successes Democrats achieved in Nevada in 2016 by organizing on the ground, in communities across the state, which ultimately resulted in electoral victories from the bottom to the top of the ticket. He described how the DNC is going to continue to organize and modernize in order to support candidates across the country who are running for local office, through those running for the U.S. Senate in 2018.
