JDCA mourns First Lady Barbara Bush

The Jewish Democratic Council of America mourns the passing of former First Lady Barbara Bush, and we extend our deepest condolences to President George H.W. Bush and his entire family, including, of course, President George W. Bush. Mrs. Bush served our nation with grace and grit, and through her strong character was a role model and inspiration to so many of us. She will be remembered as a great American who was fiercely committed to her family and to the causes of literacy and HIV/AIDS and the city of Houston. May her memory be for a blessing, as we Jews say, and may all her family members find solace in the days ahead.
