Press Release

A new chapter for Jewish Dems

November 21, 2017

Dear Friend:

We celebrated the official launch of the Jewish Democratic Council of America earlier this month, as hundreds of guests joined us for a briefing and reception on Washington, D.C.’s Capitol Hill. Recognizing our group’s critical work, dozens of members of Congress showed up for the launch, including House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, who praised JDCA as a “patriotic organization” fighting for a “better future.”

The launch generated significant press coverage, with Politico, the Forward, JTA, the Times of Israel, the Jerusalem Post and others writing up the event. JDCA also earned plaudits in Washington Jewish Week, which wrote in an editorial: “The list of supporters is impressive. The objectives of JDCA sound encouraging. And the effort to re-center the party might be exactly what Democrats need.”

As the political home for Jewish Democrats, our group will support progressive candidates and ideas, battle anti-Semitism and push for a stronger relationship between the United States and Israel. We are committed to being a modern and relevant voice for our community, and have developed a strategy to ensure our message is heard. You can read more about this on JewishDems.org, which is updated in real time.

Right now, JDCA is building up operations ahead of next fall’s midterm elections, and we plan to take an active role in electing candidates that reflect our Jewish and Democratic values. I feel lucky and honored to lead a board of change-makers and philanthropists who are all committed to making a significant difference.

How can you get involved? Pass this message to friends and encourage them to sign up for our mailing list. Shoot us an e-mail at [email protected]. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter. And if you can spare a few dollars, please think about donating to JDCA.

Democratically,

Ron Klein

Chairman

Jewish Democratic Council of America
