Maryland
Sen. Chris Van Hollen (MD-Sen)
Senator Chris Van Hollen has been a champion for our values since his election in 2016. In the past, he served in the Maryland State Legislature and as a Congressman for Maryland’s 8th District. In the Senate, he has worked tirelessly to address economic inequalities, childhood cancer, and gun violence. Senator Van Hollen is vocal about the need for Israelis and Palestinians to live peacefully in coexistence.
Wes Moore (MD-Gov)
Wes Moore is a former combat veteran, anti-poverty activist, and Rhodes Scholar running for Governor of Maryland. His policy priorities include increasing economic opportunity for underserved communities, improving education, increasing access to health care, and strengthening the state’s environmental protections. He is a strong advocate for race equity, criminal justice reform, and increased opportunities for Black families. If elected, Moore would be the first black governor of Maryland. With Republican incumbent Gov. Larry Hogan term-limited out of office, this seat is wide open. This is one of the Democrats’ best chances to take back a governorship in the nation, and we could not be more excited to endorse Moore.
Rep. Glenn Ivey (MD-04)
Representative Glenn Ivey was elected to Congress in 2022. Prior, he served two terms as the Prince George's County Attorney. Ivey is passionate about the power of public service, and as state attorney, he established the first-ever Domestic Violence Prevention Unit and a mortgage fraud unit to fight for homeowners who lost out when the real estate market suffered. Ivey is an advocate for gun safety, reproductive rights, criminal justice reform, education, and environmental protection. He is especially adamant about social justice reform, focusing on race and health equity. Ivey is a member of the New Democrat Coalition. JDCA endorsed Ivey in 2022.
Rep. David Trone (MD-06)
Representative David Trone has served his community since his election to the House of Representatives in 2018. Prior to holding elected office, Rep. Trone was a successful entrepreneur and business owner. He was also a prominent supporter of the American Civil Liberties Union, which recently created the Trone Center for Justice and Equality, which focuses on creating much-needed prison reform. In Congress, Rep. Trone has focused on tackling the opioid crisis, achieving criminal justice reform, and improving mental healthcare. Rep. Trone is a proven fighter for Democratic values and the people of Maryland, and we are proud to endorse him.
