JNS: US House passes resolution recognizing Armenian genocide, bill to sanction Turkey

“It is critically important for America to join the dozens of countries who have recognized the Armenian genocide, and acknowledge the more than 1 million lost over a century ago at the hands of the Ottoman Empire,” said Jewish Democratic Council of America executive director Halie Soifer in a statement.
“As Jews, we understand the pain of losing an entire generation and stand in solidarity with Armenian Americans impacted by this dark chapter of history. It is never too late to acknowledge the enormity of this loss and wrongdoing and to reaffirm the promise of ‘never again’ bearing witness to genocide.”
