How we make the difference

June 30, 2023

As we reach the end of June, we know you’re getting many emails from organizations and candidates asking for support. This one is different. We’re thanking you for helping grow JDCA into the voice and political home of Jewish voters in support of Democrats who share our core values. We’re wishing you a happy Fourth of July, which reminds us of the work we must continue to do to defend our democracy — the top priority for Jewish voters. And we’re asking you to continue to support JDCA’s efforts advocating for policy, educating and mobilizing Jewish voters, and electing Democrats, all consistent with our core values. We depend on your support to continue to grow, and when we are successful, Democrats win.

A new national poll of Jewish voters released this week by the Jewish Electorate Institute (JEI) confirmed the importance of the Jewish vote to the Democratic Party. Jewish voters overwhelmingly support Joe Biden and the Democratic Party, which demonstrates the importance of JDCA’s work. When Jewish voters show up, Democrats win.

In a hypothetical 2024 matchup, the poll shows that President Biden holds a 50-point lead over Donald Trump among Jewish voters. 80% of Jewish voters view Donald Trump unfavorably, 76% view Ron DeSantis unfavorably, 68% view Kevin McCarthy unfavorably, and 73% of Jewish voters view the Republican Party unfavorably. In a climate of rising antisemitism, Jewish voters trust Democrats (57%) more than Republicans (22%) to fight antisemitism — that’s more than a two-to-one margin.

JDCA is the only national organization exclusively focused on mobilizing the Jewish vote in states and districts where the Jewish vote can make the difference between Democrats winning and losing, and we are confident that our model, which has proven successful in previous elections, will continue to deliver victory for Democrats.

We are laying the groundwork for victory in 2024 and your support is critical to our success. Donate to JDCA to help us reach our goals and keep reading for more.

JDCA CHAPTERS TAKING ACTION

JDCA’s state and regional chapters are critical to our work in mobilizing Jewish voters for Democrats who share our core values. Yesterday, we were thrilled to convene with over 80 Florida Jewish Dems for an in-person gathering in Delray Beach. We discussed the importance of our activism in the face of Republican extremism and the work ahead of us to flip Florida blue in 2024.

We were also thrilled to launch our New Jersey chapter this week, where we discussed JDCA’s impact across the country and the potential for our work in New Jersey. Speakers included retired State Senator Loretta Weinberg and JDCA’s Chief of Staff, Sam Crystal. Read more about our New Jersey chapter launch and learn more about how you can take action with our state and regional chapters.

ICYMI: AMB. NIDES JOINED JDCA

Earlier this week, outgoing U.S. Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides joined JDCA for a conversation about Israel’s future. We expressed our appreciation to the ambassador for his two-year tenure and asked him to share his insights on President Biden’s strong support of Israel, accomplishments and challenges from the past two years, and on the Israeli government’s proposed judicial overhaul. We are grateful to the hundreds of you who joined our event, which was covered by C-SPAN. If you missed it, you can watch the event on YouTube and read the coverage in Axios and Haaretz.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
