Representative Katie Porter is running in California’s 47th District this November due to redistricting after serving two terms in California’s 45th District. From the start, Rep. Porter has been a fighter for everyday Americans. That’s why in 2012, then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris appointed Rep. Porter to be California’s watchdog against the banks. Rep. Porter and her team held the banks’ feet to the fire, securing over $18 billion and helping tens of thousands of families move forward with their lives. Rep. That’s also why she is an ardent supporter of federal voting rights legislation and removing dark money from politics. Rep. Porter has worked hard on making healthcare coverage more affordable for American families. In 2019, she passed legislation that reduced the income threshold for families to deduct medical expenses from their taxes and has introduced multiple bills aimed at lowering prescription healthcare costs. She is also a friend to Israel. She co-sponsored H.R. 326, which reaffirmed Congressional support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Rep. Levin has continued that fight in Congress, serving on the House Committee on Natural Resources and the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. He supports providing quality healthcare to all Americans, supporting bills that would provide dental and vision coverage under Medicare and improve healthcare outcomes for mothers and babies on Medicaid and in the CHIP program.
