Important Deadlines for Arizona
– Voter Registration: Oct. 11
– Absentee ballots: Application: Oct. 28, Completion: 7 p.m on Nov. 8
– Early Voting: Starts: Oct. 12, Ends: Nov. 4
Rules and requirements:
– Voters must present valid ID at the polls, either a valid photo ID or two forms of other ID.
– Polling places are open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
– Ballot drop boxes are available
– As a result of suppressive voting laws passed by Republicans, various changes have been made to Arizona’s voting and election procedures that voters should be aware of. These include:
– Ballot signature requirements were expanded so that any ballot arriving without a signature must be fixed by 7 p.m on election day, instead of by the 5th day after election day as it was before.
– Ballots cast in the wrong precinct will be discarded even if the voter was eligible to vote.
– It is now a crime for anyone other than a family member or caregiver to turn in another person’s early ballot.
