We’re COMMITTED

February 28, 2024

Yesterday, President Biden coasted to victory in the Michigan primary even as some voters chose ‘uncommitted’ as a protest vote. Jewish voters, along with the vast majority of Democrats, strongly support President Biden’s re-election. Join us if you’re also committed to ensuring President Biden wins in November.

We stand with the President because he aligns with our community on every key issue – defending democracy, protecting abortion access, combating antisemitism, addressing the epidemic of gun violence, mitigating the impact of climate change, and supporting Israel’s security and right to self-defense. President Biden has pledged unprecedented emergency military assistance for Israel (which has been blocked for more than four months by Republicans), negotiated a release of hostages, and supported humanitarian assistance for innocent Palestinians. Three-quarters of Jewish American voters supported the President’s handling of the war in the aftermath of October 7.

Those who voted ‘uncommitted’ in yesterday’s Michigan primary did so knowing President Biden would easily win the primary. That will not necessarily be the case in November, when any vote for a third-party candidate, protest position, or non-vote is effectively a vote for Donald Trump. The percentage of uncommitted votes yesterday was 13.5%, only 2.5 points higher than in 2012 when President Obama went on to defeat Mitt Romney in Michigan by 450,000 votes.

Still, we have work to do to ensure President Biden wins this critically important election. The stakes are far too high, and we cannot afford to risk another four years of Donald Trump. Join us in making sure that everyone in your network knows that President Biden is defending democracy and delivering for the American people while Trump poses a grave threat to the future of our democracy, freedom, and values. Jewish Americans understand the clear and present danger posed by Donald Trump, who has not only pledged to be a ‘dictator on day one’ but has also emboldened, incited, and normalized dangerous right-wing extremists who threaten our safety and security, as well as the safety and security of Muslim and Arab Americans. JDCA stands firmly behind President Biden and will work to mobilize Jewish voters across the country to ensure his re-election. We encourage all who seek to defeat Donald Trump to join us in the lead-up to November.

Supporting JDCA helps to grow our national movement, advance our advocacy agenda, and expand our programming, political, and organizing efforts in key districts and states to engage Jewish voters.

Thank you for your commitment, partnership, and support.

Warmly,
