Trump’s Attack on the Truth

Donald Trump’s assault on American democracy has reached new heights. In recent days, Trump fired the Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics because of how they reported on the state of our economy. It’s a deeply alarming threat to one of the most non-partisan, fact-based institutions in our government and part of Donald Trump’s larger assault on democracy and the truth.

In Donald Trump’s vision for America, the facts don’t matter. This is not just an attack on economic transparency – it’s a move straight from the autocrat’s playbook and a deep and growing threat to American democracy. It builds on ongoing GOP attacks on voting rights and elections, as demonstrated by their attempt to steal five House seats in Texas. This has been followed by threats to arrest Democratic Texas lawmakers attempting to resist ongoing Republican efforts to manipulate elections in their favor.

This event is a virtual town hall – an opportunity for JDCA members to hear from us and for you to discuss the issues that are impacting your vote.
