Take Action with Jewish Dems
Dear Friend,
This week, President Joe Biden traveled to Israel to offer his solidarity and support, the first time a sitting U.S. President has visited Israel during a time of war. The President pledged U.S. support and offered compassion and empathy to those who were victimized by Hamas terrors and those whose family members were murdered, injured, or are still held hostage by Hamas. In a powerful speech at the end of his trip, President Biden declared: “Israel will be a safe, secure, and democratic state today, tomorrow, and forever.” He backed this pledge in his address to the nation, when he announced his unprecedented request of more than $10 billion in emergency military assistance for Israel. We’re grateful for President Biden’s commitment to Israel’s security and for his moral clarity and leadership, as well as the unwavering support of House and Senate Democrats for Israel. While President Biden met with leaders in Israel, JDCA hosted Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to address nearly 1,000 members of the JDCA community. Leader Schumer, the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in U.S. history, had just returned from leading an emergency bipartisan delegation to Israel. Leader Schumer told Jewish Dems, “In my role as Majority Leader, I am going to get the largest, best, quickest package to support Israel…Remember, whether it’s in America or in Israel, Am Israel Chai.”
Here are five ways you can take action today:

While Democrats continue to stand with Israelis and support the Jewish community, Republican extremism and disarray are putting that support at risk. Earlier this week, Donald Trump – the GOP’s presumptive nominee – mocked israel and praised the terror organization Hezbollah as “very smart.” Republicans who continue to give a platform to Trump’s dangerous extremism – especially the Republican Jewish Coalition, which is hosting Donald Trump next weekend – should be ashamed of themselves.
Meanwhile, Americans are witnessing how House Republicans’ inability to govern impacts our ability to support Israel in this crisis. Republicans again failed to elect a Speaker, meaning Congress cannot pass critical supplemental funding to ensure Israel’s security. Republicans also made clear their intentions to hold up the appointment of Jack Lew as the next U.S. Ambassador to Israel, and Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama is holding up at least 300 military nominees — including the Deputy Commander of CENTCOM — from being appointed to their leadership positions, damaging the U.S. military’s ability to respond to crises around the world.
The GOP’s inability to govern as Democrats stand up for Israel in this critical moment emphasizes the importance of JDCA’s work electing Democrats who share our values. Just imagine if, amid this crisis, it was Donald Trump — and not Joe Biden — in the White House. We helped to ensure Joe Biden won in 2020, and with your support, we will re-elect President Biden, increase our Senate majority, and take back the House in 2024. It’s too important to sit on the sidelines, so join us.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Shabbat Shalom,
Hon. Ron Klein
