SIGN UP: Briefing with Gov. Josh Shapiro & Rabbi Sharon Brous
Last week, JDCA expressed our outrage at the widespread refusal of the international community to acknowledge the horrific sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas. JDCA hosted the First Lady of the State of Israel, Mrs. Michal Herzog, to discuss the world’s deafening silence and joined other leaders to demand the world hold Hamas accountable. It took 57 days before UN Women finally spoke out over the weekend. The same could not be said for every Democrat. This morning, we expressed our deep disappointment in Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s failure to fully condemn Hamas’s use of sexual violence as an act of war. It should not be hard to condemn Hamas for these brutal attacks unequivocally, and there is no moral equivalence to draw around the mass atrocities perpetrated by Hamas. Full stop.
COMMUNITY BRIEFING: GOV. SHAPIRO AND RABBI BROUS
Since the October 7 terrorist attack, JDCA has hosted community conversations with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Democratic House Leader Hakeem Jeffries, New York Governor Kathy Hochul, and other Jewish Democratic leaders. This week, our eighth community briefing will feature Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Rabbi Sharon Brous for a virtual event co-hosted with JDCA partner, Democratic Jewish Outreach Pennsylvania (DJOP). Please join us.
Thank you for your continued support of JDCA during this critical time for Jewish Americans. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.
With gratitude,
Halie Soifer
