Shana Tovah – our wish for the new year
Friends,
On behalf of the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA), we wish you and your family a shanah tovah u’metuka – a very happy and sweet new year. We are incredibly grateful for your partnership and support, and look forward to working together to further our Jewish and democratic values in the new year.

Our Jewish tradition teaches us that it is our responsibility to further our values, such as repairing the world, supporting those in need, promoting equality, and welcoming the stranger. Recent years have underscored the critical role that elections play in determining whether our government reflects our values.
JDCA was created shortly after the 2016 election to serve as the voice of Jewish Democrats, to advocate for Jewish and democratic values, and to mobilize Jewish voters to bring about political change consistent with those values. That’s precisely what we’ve done in the past two years.
In 2018, we engaged with more than half a million Jewish voters to get out the vote in support of candidates who share our values, and more than 80 percent of them won their election to the Senate or House. If Democrats had not won in 2018, we would have no oversight of President Trump, and we are incredibly proud of the role JDCA played in helping to flip the House from Republican to Democratic control. An election victory has never been more consequential or essential to our future.
As we look to the 2020 election, we are building on our success in 2018 to expand the scope, reach, and impact of our work. Take action with JDCA to ensure your voice is heard because every voice – and every vote – matters. Below are some ways you can get involved.
We want to hear from you! Tell us what role you’d like to play with JDCA in your community in the new year by sending us an email. We will connect you with others in your area to build a local JDCA chapter so that you can bring about the change our country needs in 2020.
Send us a short note to [email protected] with your city/state and interest in getting involved, and we will help you join a local JDCA chapter.

Our mission has never been more critical. With your help, we can continue to expand our work and ensure we’re successful. We are incredibly grateful for your partnership and wish you all the best in the new year.
Shabbat Shalom,
