JDCA Endorses Rep. Shontel Brown for Re-election in OH-11
Jewish Dems are excited to announce our endorsement of Rep. Shontel Brown for re-election in Ohio’s 11th Congressional District. In 2021, JDCA played a pivotal role in Rep. Brown’s election to Congress. With 22,000 Jewish voters in the district, we knew the Jewish vote would make a critical difference in the outcome of this competitive Democratic primary in support of Rep. Brown. JDCA played a critical role in ensuring her win in 2021 and we’ll do it again in 2022.
As the only national organization focused exclusively on mobilizing Jewish voters, JDCA contacted each Jewish voter in OH-11 last year nearly 200 times, and it paid off. Voter turnout in predominantly Jewish areas of OH-11 was double the rate elsewhere in the district, which allowed Rep. Brown to overcome a significant deficit of support months before the election and win by just over 4,200 votes. This year we will redeploy our proven and effective strategy to mobilize the Jewish voters in OH-11 and re-elect Rep. Brown. We did it last year and we’ll do it again, and once again, we’re confident the Jewish vote will make the difference.
Democrats’ slim majority in the House means that every vote – and every election – counts. Rep. Brown promised to deliver key investments for OH-11 families, and in less than a year in Congress, she is keeping her promises. Rep. Brown helped pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill and has already introduced legislation to expand access to school meals and improve veteran healthcare. Rep. Brown has been a dedicated friend to both Jewish Americans and Israel, including through her support of Iron Dome.
JDCA is the only national organization combining Jewish values and Democratic political advocacy. When you support our work, you support Democratic victories for candidates who share our values, which is all the more critical in Democratic primaries.
