Jewish Dems Welcome Biden’s Upcoming Israel Trip
WASHINGTON – Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) applauded President Biden for visiting Israel tomorrow, October 18. Also on October 18, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer plans to address JDCA. In response, JDCA CEO Halie Soifer said the following:
“President Biden’s visit to Israel in the immediate aftermath of Hamas’s horrific scourge of barbarism and terror is incredibly meaningful. The President’s visit is a powerful act of solidarity with Israel, offering light and support in Israel’s darkest hour and demonstrating America’s unwavering commitment to Israel. We are proud to stand with President Biden in his unequivocal demonstration of partnership with Israel and condemnation of Hamas’s unconscionable acts of terror.
“President Biden will visit Israel at a critical moment to reaffirm America’s solidarity with Israel and our commitment to its security, which includes both words and actions. He will reiterate that Israel has the right to defend its people from Hamas and other terrorists and prevent future attacks and discuss our shared defense interests and American efforts to provide military and other forms of assistance to Israel. Jewish Dems see no contradiction between fully supporting Israel in its efforts to eradicate Hamas and concern for innocent Palestinian lives. Moral clarity, strength, and leadership are required at this moment, and that’s what President Biden is providing in his visit to Israel tomorrow.
“Also tomorrow, join JDCA on Wednesday, October 18 at 12:00 p.m. ET/9:00 a.m. PT as we host Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer for an emergency briefing on Hamas Terror and Israel’s Response. Leader Schumer will discuss his recent trip to Israel.
