Jewish Dems: We Must Count Every Ballot

November 4, 2020

WASHINGTON – With the final results of the election still to come, it is clear that Jewish voters have once again overwhelmingly supported Democrats, including Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Jewish Democratic Council of America Executive Director Halie Soifer released the following statement:

“We are encouraged to see overwhelming Jewish voter support for Joe Biden by a margin of nearly four-to-one, the largest repudiation of a Republican candidate for president by Jewish voters in 20 years, and more than a five-point increase in Jewish support for the Democratic candidate since 2016.*

“Jewish voters overwhelmingly supported Joe Biden and rejected Donald Trump because they trust Biden more on every issue, including Israel, and reject Trump’s emboldening of hatred, his attacks on our democracy, and his reckless handling of the largest public health crisis of our lifetimes.

“The 77-21 Jewish vote margin will help to ensure a Biden victory in key states that will determine the outcome of this election, including Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada and possibly Pennsylvania.

Donald Trump does not get to decide whether he won this election – American voters do. Jewish voters are appalled that Trump is assaulting our democracy by attempting to disenfranchise Americans, yet we remain confident that Joe Biden will win this election once all the ballots are counted.”
