Jewish Dems Respond to Synagogue Shooting

WASHINGTION – In response to the shooting at a Chabad synagogue in Poway, Calif. today, Jewish Democratic Council of America Executive Director Halie Soifer issued the following statement:

“We are devastated by the news of another synagogue shooting, this time during Passover services. Our hearts are with the people of Poway at this difficult time, and we send our prayers to families of those lost and injured.

“We reaffirm our commitment to combatting the anti-Semitism, hate crimes, and gun violence that have plagued our communities, places of worship, and schools. We urge our public officials to immediately take action to prevent incidents like this in the future and ensure our community is secure. No one should pray in fear.”
