Jewish Dems Respond to Attacks on Israel

WASHINGTON – This morning, former Congressman Ron Klein, Chair of the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA), and Halie Soifer, CEO of JDCA, issued the following statement:

“Jewish Dems are horrified and outraged by the unprovoked terrorist attacks on Israel. We strongly condemn this unconscionable violence and stand with Israelis as they face ongoing terror throughout the country.

“These unprecedented attacks by Palestinian terrorists via air, land, and sea have led to countless deaths and injuries, civilian and military hostages, and the infiltration of numerous Israeli towns and kibbutzim. We are devastated to learn the day began with a barrage of more than 2,500 rocket attacks fired into central and southern Israel, and has continued with violence targeting innocent Israelis in the streets and as they seek shelter in their homes.

“The scope, magnitude, and result of these attacks – intentionally conducted in the early hours of Shabbat and Simchat Torah, and on the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War – has not yet become fully clear. What is clear is that these events will have severe repercussions for Israelis and Palestinians alike, those responsible will be held to account, and these unconscionable acts of violence must come to an immediate end.

“Jewish Dems unequivocally stand with Israel and strongly support its right to self-defense. We welcome the assurances given by the Biden administration and Congressional leaders that they too stand in solidarity with Israel, and offer the support of the United States amid this uncertainty, terror, and war.”
