Jewish Dems Launch Ad Campaign in NY-3 Special Election
WASHINGTON – The Jewish Democratic Council of America’s JDCA PAC has launched a targeted digital advertising effort to elect former Rep. Tom Suozzi in New York’s Third Congressional District February 13 special election to replace disgraced Republican former Rep. George Santos. According to JDCA estimates, NY-3 has the fourth-highest Jewish voter population in the country – more than 10% of the electorate. Jewish voters will impact the outcome of this race.
In the run-up to the special election, JDCA and JDCA PAC are pursuing an aggressive strategy to engage NY-3’s Jewish voters with a message that Suozzi is aligned with the interests and values of Jewish voters, while his opponent, Mazi Philip, is aligned with GOP MAGA extremists.
JDCA PAC’s digital ads (below) will target approximately 80,000 Jewish voters in NY-3 an estimated 3.2 million times from now until Election Day. JDCA is actively engaging its national grassroots network of thousands of volunteers to make phone calls and texts to Jewish voters in NY-3, with Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) joining a JDCA phone bank to kick off the campaign.
Halie Soifer, CEO of the Jewish Democratic Council of America, said, “JDCA’s campaign in NY-3 epitomizes the work we’ll continue do this election cycle – mobilizing Jewish voters to elect Democrats who share our values in districts and states where we know the Jewish vote will impact the outcome of the race. That’s certainly the case in NY-3, where Tom Suozzi is aligned with Jewish voters on every key issue – including democracy, abortion, and Israel – and his Republican opponent is aligned with MAGA extremists, including Trump.
“This special election is a critically important opportunity to flip a red seat blue, bringing Democrats one seat closer to winning the House majority in November, and we’re confident that Jewish voters will impact the outcome of this race in support of Suozzi. Jewish voters in NY-3 will support Suozzi because he has a proven record of delivering for the American people, as opposed to do-nothing extremist Republicans whose views are antithetical to those of our community.”
JDCA endorsed Suozzi in December, soon after the launch of his candidacy, and will mobilize Jewish voters to win key House and Senate races over the coming year and reelect President Biden.
