Jewish Dems Endorse Haley Stevens and Mallory McMorrow in Michigan Senate Race
National Org to Focus on Defeating Democrat Abdul El-Sayed in Primary and Republican Mike Rogers in General
WASHINGTON — Today, the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) announced its endorsement of Democrats State Senator Mallory McMorrow and Congresswoman Haley Stevens for Michigan’s open Senate seat. Describing the dual endorsement, JDCA CEO Halie Soifer, a Michigan native, released the following statement:
“JDCA is focused on supporting and electing Democrats who share the values and views of the vast majority of Jewish Americans. In the critically important Michigan Senate Democratic primary, there are two candidates who stand with our community on issues of importance to Jewish voters, and there is one who does not. It is because of this stark contrast of the views and values of Haley Stevens and Mallory McMorrow, compared to those of Abdul El-Sayed, that we are taking the distinct opportunity to endorse two candidates.
“We’re proud to support both Mallory McMorrow and Haley Stevens because they each share our deep commitment to defending democracy, opposing antisemitism, and supporting Israel’s future as a Jewish and democratic state. We are focused on keeping this Senate seat blue, and believe that only Haley and Mallory can defeat Mike Rogers in November.”
“Ahead of the primary election on August 4, we urge Jewish Michiganders to support Mallory McMorrow or Haley Stevens, two proven friends of our community, and reject candidates who fail to demonstrate the unifying leadership necessary at this moment.”
The Jewish Democratic Council of America has endorsed over 120 candidates across 33 states this cycle and is embarking on a seven-figure campaign mobilizing Jewish voters in the races where it can have the largest impact in support of Democrats.
