Jewish Dems Congratulate Judge Susan Crawford on Victory in Wisconsin Supreme Court Race
WASHINGTON – After Judge Susan Crawford was declared the winner of a seat on Wisconsin’s Supreme Court – cementing a liberal majority on the Court – the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) congratulated Judge Crawford on her victory and emphasized the rejection of Donald Trump in the first statewide election since November.
As the only national Jewish organization actively engaged in getting out the vote in Wisconsin, JDCA endorsed Judge Crawford in February. In the weeks that followed, JDCA volunteers from across the country made nearly 30,000 direct voter contacts in Wisconsin in less than a month, including phone calls and door knocks. Following Judge Crawford’s victory, Halie Soifer, JDCA CEO, released the following statement:
“Tonight, the people of Wisconsin sent a resounding message rejecting Donald Trump’s agenda and attacks on our democracy and fundamental rights, and we’re proud to have played a critical role supporting Judge Susan Crawford.
“Judge Crawford’s victory is an affirmation of the key values that drive the Jewish American vote – defense of democracy, free and fair elections, and fundamental rights, including abortion access. Her opponent pledged to be Trump’s ‘support network’ – and even after Elon Musk spent more than $15 million on this race, Wisconsinites rejected Trump, Musk, and MAGA extremism.
“We’re proud to have played a key role defeating MAGA in the first statewide election since November. JDCA was the only national Jewish organization to endorse in this race, and our grassroots mobilization made a difference ensuring victory for our values and Judge Crawford.
“We will continue to make our voices heard, especially in key races where Jewish voters will have an impact, and congratulate Justice-elect Susan Crawford on her victory.”
