Jewish Dems Condemn Trump’s Gaslighting and Lies

WASHINGTON – Following the first presidential debate of the 2024 election, Halie Soifer, CEO of the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA), released the following statement:

“Tonight, Donald Trump lied to the American people for 90 minutes straight. He blustered and obfuscated about every topic, but the most egregious lie was falsely claiming that he had the biggest heart on the stage. Even Trump’s strongest supporters – and Donald Trump himself – know that one is a blatant lie.

“President Biden has proven that he has the experience, empathy, principles and policies to continue to deliver for the American people. On every issue the candidates debated tonight – Israel, democracy, abortion, and antisemitism – President Biden is firmly aligned with the values of Jewish Americans. President Biden stands with Jewish voters, and we stand with him. 

“Through Donald Trump’s lies, a truth emerges: he’s an affront to everything of importance to Jewish Americans. In the past two elections, Jewish voters have rejected his dangerous extremism, and we’ll do it again in this election.”
