Jewish Dems Commemorate Anniversary of Deadliest Attack on American Jews
WASHINGTON – Today, the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) and Democratic Jewish Outreach of Pennsylvania (DJOP) remembered the deadliest attack on Jews in American history, which occurred two years ago at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.
JDCA Executive Director Halie Soifer and DJOP Chair Jill Zipin issued the following joint statement:
“On this two year anniversary of the horrific Tree of Life synagogue shooting, our thoughts are with the loved ones of the eleven victims of this massacre. We pray for those impacted by this deadly act of anti-Semitic violence and domestic terrorism, and remember each of those whose lives were tragically cut short.
“We are deeply concerned that President Trump continues to fuel the flames of hatred, division, and incitement that contributed to the attack in Pittsburgh. Whether from COVID-19, unchecked access to deadly weapons, or right-wing extremism, far too many Americans have died in the past four years. It is time for a change, and we urge everyone to join us in doing all we can to elect Joe Biden on November 3.”
