JDCA Strongly Condemns President Mahmoud Abbas’s Hate Speech

On Monday, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas delivered a venomous, dishonest speech filled with rank anti-Semitism. Most offensively, President Abbas claimed the Jews invited the Holocaust on themselves because of usurious moneylending practices and their “social function.” His statements are hateful, divisive, and destructive to peace between Israelis and Palestinians. The Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) vehemently condemns President Abbas’ statements. Rather than address the dire needs of Palestinians and make progress toward peace, Abbas continues to spread anti-Semitic lies and incitement against Jews. The Palestinian people deserve a better advocate—and the Jewish people will not tolerate anti-Semitism. It is long past time for Abbas to step down.
