JDCA Applauds Passage of Pro-Israel Measures
WASHINGTON–The Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) applauded the House of Representatives for the passage of three bipartisan measures related to the U.S.-Israel relationship. JDCA Executive Director Halie Soifer said the following:
“We applaud the House’s passage of three measures related to Israel, which demonstrates the ongoing bipartisan support for a strong U.S.-Israel relationship. Nearly 90% of House Democrats voted in support of H.Res. 246, which affirms support for a two state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and opposition to the global BDS movement because it undermines prospects for two states.
“Tonight, both parties came together to support these measures, demonstrating overwhelming bipartisan support for Israel. This is a rejection of President Trump’s approach, which cynically aims to politicize U.S. support of Israel. Jewish Americans do not want to see the U.S.-Israel relationship politicized, and strongly reject the president’s use of Israel – and anti-Semitism – as a political wedge issue.”
