JDCA Applauds California Democratic Party Rejection of Anti-Israel Resolutions
WASHINGTON–The Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) welcomes the California Democratic Party’s decision to reject several resolutions that did not reflect the Democratic Party’s positions on Israel at the recent California Democratic Party Convention. JDCA Executive Director Halie Soifer said the following:
“In rejecting a series of anti-Israel resolutions introduced by one individual, California’s Democratic Party reaffirmed Democratic support for a strong U.S.-Israel relationship. JDCA and other organizations spoke out against these biased resolutions to reiterate the Democratic Party’s support for Israel and strong opposition to all forms of anti-Semitism, and we are pleased these efforts were successful.
“It is unfortunate that Republicans and others have attempted to politicize support of Israel and divide Democrats on this issue. The Democratic Party remains staunchly pro-Israel and committed to combatting anti-Semitism, as well as a range of other domestic policy priorities that are aligned with Jewish values.”
