71% of Jewish Voters in Battleground States Back Kamala Harris In Head-to-Head Matchup with Donald Trump

October 9, 2024

WASHINGTON – A new poll of Jewish voters in key swing states shows an overwhelming lead for Vice President Harris over Donald Trump with less than a month until Election Day. In a head-to-head matchup between Harris and Trump, 71% of battleground state Jewish voters selected Harris, while only 26% of respondents selected Trump.

The survey, conducted from September 26 to October 2 by GBAO Strategies as a project of the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA), included a sample of 800 Jewish voters across Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, and Nevada. These are the seven states most likely to decide the outcome of the presidential election, each with a sizable Jewish population.

Consistent with a national poll of Jewish voters released as a project of JDCA last month, the future of democracy and abortion remain the top two voting priorities for Jewish battleground state voters, followed by inflation/the economy.

Topline data is available here: https://jewishdems.org/jdca-polling-home-page/

Halie Soifer, JDCA CEO, said, “In the states that will decide the outcome of this election, Jewish Americans are strongly motivated to vote – and the vast majority are planning to vote for Kamala Harris. Whether it’s national polling or this poll of battleground states, the data continues to indicate that the Jewish vote is locked in for Kamala Harris and Democrats, with only one out of four Jewish American voters supporting Donald Trump and Republicans. The Jewish American electorate has been incredibly consistent in its overwhelming rejection of Donald Trump. This poll demonstrates that 2024 is no different and that Donald Trump – who received 25% of the Jewish vote in 2016 – has made zero inroads with Jewish voters in the past eight years.”

Key findings of the poll include:

  • When asked to select the top two most important issues to them, 44% of Jewish voters said the future of American democracy, 36% said access to abortion, and 24% said inflation.
  • 71% of respondents intend to vote for Democrats running for Congress, demonstrating that Jewish voters do not intend to split their tickets in terms of the presidential and congressional vote.
  • Among the Rust Belt battleground states (Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin), Harris leads 72-23 against Trump.
