Justice Jackson Represents the Best of America

April 8, 2022

Yesterday’s historic confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court is a victory for democracy and the pursuit of justice. President Biden fulfilled his promise to nominate a highly qualified Black woman to the Supreme Court, and Democrats ensured her confirmation. Justice Jackson represents the best of America, and her confirmation demonstrates just how much elections matter.

Were it not for Democrats’ historic White House and Senate wins, we would not be celebrating this incredibly historic change to the make-up of the Supreme Court. This was only possible because of President Biden and Democrats, who are in office because of you and other Jewish Democratic voters across the country.

The Jewish Democratic vote makes a vital difference in helping to shape the outcome of elections – we did it in 2018 and 2020, and will do it again in 2022. Click below to join us and thank those responsible for this historic Supreme Court confirmation.

On Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee advanced the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act, which will enhance our ability to prevent and respond to domestic terrorist and white supremacist threats. JDCA commented in Jewish Insider that it was “deeply disappointing, though not surprising,” that Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee uniformly opposed the legislation. Instead of taking this matter seriously, Republicans on the committee “made a mockery of the bill by offering ridiculous amendments” regarding vaccines and school boards.

House Republicans have demonstrated they have no interest in defending Jewish Americans from the dangerous threat of white supremacy despite offering their support of the exact same bill last year. Shame on them — this political gaming directly impacts our security.

Jewish Dems are thrilled to host our second candidates issues forum of the 2022 election cycle. Join us on Thursday, April 14 at 1 P.M. EST, as we host candidates for the Democratic primary for Pennsylvania’s Senate seat. We will be joined by candidates Lt. Governor John Fetterman, State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, and Rep. Conor Lamb.

Sign up today for this important opportunity to hear the candidates in the critical seat discuss the issues of importance to Jewish Americans and check out the forum’s mention in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Jewish Dems. Together, we’ll continue to make history.
