Jon Ossoff On The Issues

November 17, 2020

Healthcare: Jon Ossoff believes the link between health and wealth should be broken and will work to strengthen and expand Medicare, create a stable public healthcare option, and defend those with pre-existing conditions from being denied coverage.

Protecting Democracy
:
Jon Ossoff ran a media company dedicated to exposing corruption in foreign countries. He will bring that experience, and his desire to root out corruption, to the Senate. With Republicans attacking the most basic tenants of our democracy, Jon will be a staunch defender of democratic institutions as a Senator.

Environmental Issues
: He will mitigate the harmful effects of climate change and support a historic infrastructure plan that includes massive investments in clean energy, energy efficiency, and environmental protection. He believes Georgia can be a national leader in producing green energy and unite Americans around a forward thinking, historic infrastructure plan.

Roe v Wade: Jon Ossoff is committed to protecting Roe v. Wade. In the Senate, he will only vote to confirm federal judges who pledge to uphold Roe v. Wade. He will also improve the opportunity for high quality education for all Georgians, and will lower the financial burden of college with a generous forgiveness program for those struggling to pay off their student loans.

Antisemitism: We know first hand that Jon Ossoff, who is Jewish, is committed to fighting antisemitism. He joined JDCA for a candidate forum where he spoke about his strong commitment to fighting antisemitism and white nationalism and he is a strong supporter of the U.S.-Israel relationship.

His opponent, Sen. David Perdue, photoshopped an image of Ossoff that used one of the oldest and most vile antisemitic tropes in history, enlarging his nose and claiming he and Sen. Chuck Schumer are trying to buy the election.

Israel:
Jon Ossoff believes that the U.S.-Israel alliance “is deeply rooted and strategically vital for both countries, but it cannot be taken for granted. I will work to strengthen and deepen security cooperation, trade, and cultural ties, which benefit both countries. The U.S. Congress, with strong bipartisan support, must play an essential role in maintaining and strengthening healthy and open relations between the U.S. and Israel.”

Ossoff opposes the BDS movement, supports a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and will advocate for both pro-Israel and Democratic values as a member of Congress.
