Jewish voters made the difference in NY-3
Last night, we helped flip New York’s Third Congressional District from red to blue, electing Tom Suozzi and bringing Democrats one seat closer to retaking the House majority. This election demonstrates the importance of the Jewish vote and the critical work of JDCA. It was also a bellwether for what’s to come in November when freedom and democracy are on the ballot. Support our efforts to mobilize Jewish voters in swing districts like NY-3 to re-elect President Biden, take back the House, and defend the Senate Democratic majority.
JDCA was instrumental in ensuring Tom Suozzi won this election. Starting with our early endorsement of Suozzi in mid-December, we engaged more than 79,000 Jewish voters in the district – constituting 11% of the electorate. Through JDCA PAC digital and print advertisements and direct voter engagement, we targeted each Jewish voter multiple times in support of Tom Suozzi with ads like this one. Our digital advertising campaign received over 4.6 million views and our volunteers made more than 23,000 direct contacts via phone and text, including in phone banks featuring Reps. Torres, Goldman, and Stevens, as well as former Rep. Steve Israel (NY-3).
Tom Suozzi’s margin of victory – just over 13,000 votes – demonstrates that Jewish voters made a critical difference in this close election. In his victory speech, Congressman-elect Suozzi said “I want to thank the Jewish voters who stuck with me.” As Jewish Dems, we will continue to support Democratic candidates who align with our values on democracy, abortion, and Israel, and we’re significantly expanding our efforts nationally in advance of November’s election.
We know the Jewish vote will continue to play a key role in electing Democrats, and we hope you’ll support our efforts. Please join us today by donating to JDCA PAC so we can continue to make a difference in key races like NY-3.
Together, we can continue to deliver victories for Democrats who share our values and defeat extremist MAGA Republicans. Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Halie Soifer
