INVITE: Join the Attorneys General of Michigan, Arizona & Colorado
Last night, the government shutdown ended, House Republicans concluded their eight-week vacation, and Rep. Adelita Grijalva (AZ-07) was finally sworn in to Congress seven weeks after winning her election.
Over the last month, over 16,000 JDCA members demanded that Speaker Johnson swear in Rep. Grijalva. In the past two days, more than 1,500 JDCA members have sent letters demanding that Congress lower healthcare costs and renew ACA subsidies. In 2025 statewide elections, we made more than 80,000 direct voter contacts. We know that action is better than despair, and we all have the agency to speak out and create change consistent with our values, including at the ballot box.
As we prepare for the midterms and the important fight ahead to defend democracy, join a special JDCA event with state Attorneys General Dana Nessel (MI), Kris Mayes (AZ), and Phil Weiser (CO) for “Lines of Defense: How State AGs Are Defending Democracy and Combating Antisemitism.”
JOIN JDCA AND STATE ATTORNEYS GENERAL
Sign up now to join us next Wednesday, November 19, at 1:00 p.m. ET.
State Attorneys General play a pivotal role in ensuring free and fair elections in the United States because each election is overseen by individual states. Despite Donald Trump’s continual effort to erode our democracy, state AGs can ensure that our elections are free, fair, and secure, and that the winners of elections are sworn in (as AG Mayes can share regarding her lawsuit to seat Rep. Adelita Grijalva). State AGs also play a critical role in protecting our community from antisemitic attacks and fighting hate crimes.
We invite you to hear from Attorneys General Nessel, Mayes, and Weiser about their efforts to defend democracy and combat antisemitism. Join us next Wednesday, November 19, at 1:00 p.m. ET.
In solidarity,
Bobby Saferstein
