As we prepare to celebrate Passover – the festival of freedom and liberation – we can’t help but think of Donald Trump and Republicans’ attempts to erode our democratic norms, divide and dehumanize us, and curtail freedom in the United States.

The story of Passover serves as a reminder to speak out against tyranny and to act in solidarity with the oppressed. Liberation can only come after resistance and the pursuit of freedom. On this Passover, we call on you to join JDCA in defending our democracy and freedoms and standing up against any form of oppression, be it religious, racial, economic, or political. We, too, were strangers in a foreign land. The need for empathy and collective action is stronger today than ever before.

This Passover is different from all other Passovers because this president is different from all other presidents, which is why we urge you to add a fifth question to your Seder:
