May 2023: The House Passes Resolution on the Significance of Jewish American Heritage Month
Introduced by Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-25), this resolution was a historic moment of unity in support of Jewish Americans. We’re grateful for Rep. Wasserman Schultz’s continued leadership and asked her about the importance of this resolution at a time of rising antisemitism. Take a look at what she said:
I am not sure that there are words that could encapsulate the pride that I have for this year’s historic Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM). For the first time, the US House and Senate marked JAHM by passing bipartisan resolutions with the support of members from both chambers from varied parts of our country. I hope that each year this month continues to grow to become widely celebrated, joining the ranks of the other rightfully important heritage months that highlight our country's strength and diversity. While my resolution alone will not stop hate or antisemitism in its tracks, it uses the full voice of Congress, with a unanimous vote, to send a strong message: there is more that unites us than divided us.
