Day 2️⃣ of the Democratic Convention – for the future
Yesterday was a powerful kick-off to the Democratic National Convention.
First, the Democratic Party’s 2024 Policy Platform was officially adopted – a platform that reflects the values of Jewish voters, including strong support for Israel and staunch opposition to antisemitism. We were proud to serve as the only Jewish American organization that testified before the Platform Drafting Committee, encouraging strong support of Israel and a clear condemnation of antisemitism. Those key tenets are crystal clear in the Platform, which exemplifies why the Democratic Party remains the political home for the vast majority of Jewish Americans.
Also, JDCA was proud to convene in-person and virtually for a panel featuring former Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides, Israel Policy Forum’s Michael Koplow, and foreign policy expert Liz Schrayer guiding us through a conversation about Israel. In case you missed it, you can watch it here. And we’re continuing our events this week.
Finally, yesterday ended with a surprise appearance from Vice President Harris and a moving speech by President Joe Biden, who reminded us why we must win in November.
JDCA is working to win in November by reaching millions of Jewish voters in battleground states and swing districts. If you have 30 seconds right now, we need you to tell us how you can join in and help.
Take the JDCA pledge and commit to joining our efforts to elect Democrats who share our values.
Thank you. We’re going to keep sharing updates from Chicago as we celebrate Vice President Harris and Governor Tim Walz.
Sincerely,
Halie Soifer
