Committing to Change in 5784: Antisemitism

September 8, 2023

Dear Friend,

Next week, we will welcome the Jewish New Year, and we wish you much health and happiness in 5784. In this new year we are laying the groundwork to deliver victory for Democrats in 2024, and we hope you’ll join us.

Among the top priorities for Jewish American voters is combating antisemitism and hate. Antisemitic incidents in the U.S. have hit an all-time high, with an unprecedented number of incidents reported nationwide last year. Despite growing antisemitism, Republicans continue to align themselves with right-wing extremists, making Jewish Americans less safe. Jewish Dems continue to call out Republican leaders like Donald TrumpRon DeSantis, and Vivek Ramaswamy for refusing to clearly condemn antisemitism and white supremacy, thus allowing antisemitism to flourish in their party. Right-wing extremists have found a political home in the GOP.

Meanwhile, Democrats continue to oppose antisemitism in all forms and from all sources, with President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt leading the way. The Biden-Harris Administration’s National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism is the most ambitious and comprehensive effort in U.S. history to fight this dangerous scourge of hate, with more than 100 specific, actionable steps to counter and prevent antisemitic attacks.

JDCA works to elect Democrats because the Democratic Party shares our values on every key issue, including its unequivocal rejection of right-wing extremism and antisemitism.

Now is the time to take action and join us in laying the groundwork in 5784 to win in 2024.

Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt’s work as Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism is a fundamental component of the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts to counter antisemitism. The White House has invited the entire Jewish community to attend a briefing with Ambassador Lipstadt to discuss the administration’s ongoing efforts to combat antisemitism. The briefing will take place TODAY, Friday, September 8 at 12:00 PM ET. You do not need to RSVP in advance. To join, use this link and enter the password: SEAS.

With your help, 5784 will be an important year for the Jewish community and in the fight against antisemitism. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Shabbat Shalom,
