HAARETZ OP-ED: It’s time to lift the façade: Trump isn’t good for the Jews or Israel

May 20, 2025

It’s time to lift the façade.

For too long, a majority of Israelis and a small but vocal minority of Jewish Americans have supported Donald Trump based on the false belief that he was an ally of Israel and a partner of American Jews. Four months into his second term, it couldn’t be more clear: Donald Trump is not our ally, nor is he a friend of Israel, and anyone who rooted for him in November bet on the wrong horse.

I explain further in my latest op-ed in Haaretz. I encourage you to share widely, especially with those who need to hear this message.

HAARETZ: It's Time to Lift the Facade: Donald Trump Isn't Good for the Jews or Israel

It’s up to us – Jewish Americans who understand that Trump repeatedly puts our community in danger – to make sure all Jewish voters understand this before the 2026 midterms. Forward this email to anyone you know who needs to see this message, and encourage them to join JDCA’s email list so they can take action with us to engage with Jewish voters in support of Democrats who share our values.

To learn more about Trump’s Middle East trip and what it means for Israel, sign up for our virtual conversation tomorrow, Wednesday, May 21, at 12:00 p.m. ET, with Israel Policy Forum (IPF)’s Chief Policy Officer Michael Koplow.
