Standing together and fighting for our values

November 6, 2024

If you’re feeling devastated by the election results, you’re not alone. These are not the results we wanted or foresaw, and it’s incredibly painful. As we take the time to reflect on what happened, we are proud of the fact that the Jewish vote held strong for Kamala Harris and Democrats. In fact, it appears that the Jewish vote was one of the only segments of the electorate where Donald Trump failed to make meaningful inroads.

Together, we succeeded in ensuring that more than seven out of ten Jewish voters – three out of four in Pennsylvania – voted for Vice President Harris. This is consistent with what JDCA polling showed in September and October. Unfortunately, the election results weren’t close enough for it to make the decisive difference in this election. But Jewish voters continued to overwhelmingly stand with Democrats in this election, despite unprecedented Republican efforts to use hate, disinformation, and fear to divide us.

We are grateful to all of you for working to defend our values. Together, we made over 2.6 million direct voter contacts. We had nearly 50 million ad views, filled 4,500 volunteer shifts, had more than 50,000 event attendees, and employed 46 campus organizing fellows. Thank you so much for being a part of and supporting these efforts and we look forward to building on this progress in the future.

JDCA is proud to be the political home and voice for Jewish voters, advocating for policies and supporting Democrats who share our core values. This organization will be even more important with Donald Trump back in the White House, and we look forward to continuing this work and fighting for our values with all of you.

We will send a more detailed note about the election results – including some of our wins – in the coming days and want to express our gratitude to you for being a part of our movement. Our voices and values matter, and we will continue these efforts.

In solidarity,

Halie Soifer
