Debate Day – Harris v. Trump

September 10, 2024

Tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET, Vice President Harris and Donald Trump will debate for the first time. We have no doubt the extreme contrast between their positions, values, vision, and leadership will be on full display, and we look forward to watching.

Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, September 11 at 12:00 p.m. ET for “Harris vs. Trump: Debriefing the Debate” to hear from Democratic strategist and political expert Simon Rosenberg about the debate.

Kamala Harris is a strong, principled, and compassionate leader who has stood with Jewish Americans and advocated for policies aligned with our values throughout her career in public service. We know her leadership will be evident tonight at the debate, and will stand in stark contrast to the backward-looking, hateful, dictatorial, and often incoherent vision and views of Donald Trump.

JDCA’s new national poll of Jewish voters showed Jewish voters support Kamala Harris over Donald Trump, 72% to 25%, in a head-to-head match-up. You’ll see why tonight on the debate stage.

Harris has a clear vision for the future of America that is forward-looking, positive, and aligned with our values, while Trump continues to paint a dark picture of our country, community, and future that’s antithetical to our values.

The poll also showed that Jewish voters trust Harris over Trump to fight antisemitism by a nearly three-to-one margin. This is not surprising. Donald Trump continues to disparage millions of Jewish Americans on a near-daily basis, and was asked on the 2020 debate stage to condemn white supremacy, which he pointedly refused to do. Instead, he prodded a dangerous right-wing extremist group, the Proud Boys, to “stand back and stand by,” and they heeded his call on January 6 by participating in Trump’s deadly insurrection.

Will tonight finally be the night Trump condemns white supremacy? We’re not holding our breath.

As you watch tonight’s debate, think about what you’d like to discuss tomorrow, and submit any questions you have here.
