We can all DO SOMETHING

August 30, 2024

Yesterday, JDCA welcomed Ilan Goldenberg, the Harris Campaign’s Director of Jewish Outreach and Policy Advisor, for an important conversation about Kamala Harris’s longstanding ties with the Jewish community and deep commitment to Israel’s security and right to self-defense, which she underscored last night in her CNN interview. Ilan was joined by Rep. Brad Schneider (IL-10), Democratic congressional candidate George Latimer (NY-18), and JDCA New Leadership Council members Julie Zebrak and Daniel Silverberg. We discussed highlights from the Democratic National Convention (DNC) and what we can all do to heed Michelle Obama’s call to DO SOMETHING and translate the DNC’s energy and enthusiasm into action. In case you missed it, you can watch the event by clicking here.

Taking action now is incredibly important. We are just nine-and-a-half weeks until Election Day. As Vice President Harris often says, “When we fight, we win.” And now is the time to fight – and do something – in order to win at the polls in 67 days.

Visit our “Do Something” page on the JDCA website to see how you can get involved. Sign up for one or more actions to ensure victory for Democrats on Election Day.

JDCA has five key actions you can take right away:

  1. Phone banking or text banking with Jewish voters in battleground states;
  2. Canvassing (going door-to-door) with campaigns across the country;
  3. Joining our travelers’ program to campaign in key districts and states;
  4. Sharing our talking points on the candidates; and
  5. Supporting JDCA PAC today.

Americans will begin voting soon. The time to act is now.

Also This Week…

Kamala Harris is the best candidate for our country and for Jewish Americans. If you or others have any doubts or questions about her policy positions, read and share our talking points about how she has stood – and continues to stand – with Jewish Americans and Israel.

TALKING POINTS

Last week, Donald Trump was again indicted for trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Georgia. His campaign politicized a visit to Arlington National Cemetery with Gold Star families. He posted crude attacks on Kamala Harris on Truth Social. Donald Trump is an antisemitic aspiring dictator.

Last night on CNN, Kamala Harris had her first interview since becoming the Democratic nominee. She again reiterated her support for Israel’s security:

“Let me be very clear: I am unequivocal and unwavering in my commitment to Israel’s defense and its ability to defend itself, and that’s not going to change…We have got to get a deal done…We have to get a deal done. This war must end, and we must get a deal that is about getting the hostages out.”

Share the video from last night and our key points on how Kamala Harris and Tim Walz stand with Jewish Americans.

What we do in the coming days and weeks will determine the outcome of this election. Thank you for sharing our commitment to electing Democrats who share our values, and thank you for your partnership and support.
