Day one of the Democratic Convention – let’s thank President Biden

August 19, 2024

JDCA is on the ground at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this week. We’ll be hosting events each day discussing the issues most important to Jewish Americans – from the impact of antisemitism and extremism on the election, to supporting the U.S.-Israel relationship, to defending our democracy and reproductive rights, to how we can win in November.

We’re excited, energized, and ready to do the work of electing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Both will speak later this week, along with many other Democratic leaders – past, present, and future.

And tonight, to kick things off, we’ll be hearing from President Biden. He demonstrated unprecedented leadership last month when he passed the torch to Vice President Harris, and he deserves every bit of the kavod he will receive this evening for his remarkable record of success. You can join JDCA in celebrating President Biden’s leadership before he takes the stage.

Sign our “thank you” card to President Joe Biden for his five decades of partnership with Jewish Americans and his commitment to Israel, fighting antisemitism, and the values we hold dear.

SIGN THE CARD

President Biden brought moral clarity and an abiding commitment to Jewish Americans to the White House. Looking back at his record of success, it’s easy to see why many are already calling Biden’s presidential term one of the most consequential in American history.

He has delivered for Jewish Americans on the issues that are deeply personal to us. He showed unwavering support for Israel after October 7 – as he has throughout his career – and was instrumental in creating the first-ever National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism.

He passed the American Rescue plan to cut child poverty in half and rebuild the American economy after COVID. He passed bipartisan legislation to improve our infrastructure and strengthen gun violence. His Inflation Reduction Act is cutting healthcare costs, fighting climate change, and cracking down on wealthy tax cheats.

Join us in saying “thank you” to President Biden before he takes the stage at the Convention tonight.

And thank you. Be on the lookout for more updates from the Convention, especially on social media. We’re celebrating Vice President Harris’s leadership all week and will keep you posted on events here in Chicago.

Sincerely,

Halie Soifer

CEO, Jewish Democratic Council of America
