Our presidential ticket is now complete, and we have 88 days to defend our democracy and values at the ballot box by electing Vice President Harris and Governor Walz. The vice presidential selection process demonstrated that Democrats not only have a deep bench but also that the next generation of Democratic leaders share our values, including supporting Israel and fighting antisemitism.
Vice President Harris has fundamentally changed the trajectory of this election, and Donald Trump is clearly fearful of such a formidable opponent. MAGA Republicans are responding to the historic energy and excitement of the Harris-Walz ticket the only way they know how – with disinformation and hate. They choose not to speak about the issues and instead spread lies, and they are once again using Israel as a political wedge issue, aiming to divide our community. We won’t let them.
This week, they spread the dangerous, flat-out lie that Vice President Harris supports an arms embargo against Israel when, in fact, her commitment to Israel’s security is ironclad. This has been demonstrated by her consistent support for U.S. military funding for Israel, including a $15 billion increase after October 7, which JD Vance voted against and Republicans needlessly delayed.
As if that wasn’t enough, yesterday, Donald Trump denigrated the vast majority of Jewish Americans – again – saying we should “have [our] head examined.” The day before, he alleged antisemitism played a role in the selection of Gov. Walz, which is also patently false. When was the last time we heard Donald Trump say anything positive, including about Jewish Americans? NEVER. All he does is traffic in vitriol, hate, and lies, and lately, all three have targeted our community.
