Celebrating 5 Years with Jewish Dems
This month marks five years since I became the first employee of the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA). Together, our growing team — including our staff, Board of Directors, New Leadership Council, state chapters and affiliates, members, and volunteers — have helped to establish JDCA as the voice and political home of Jewish voters in support of Democrats who share our core values. We are grateful for your investment in and commitment to our movement as we continue to grow, and want to thank you for making our shared success possible.
JDCA advocates for policy and mobilizes Jewish voters to elect Democrats who share our values. In just five years, we have helped Democrats win 197 elections, helping to flip the House, Senate, and White House from Republican to Democratic control. In 2018, we got out the Jewish vote and 84% of our endorsed candidates won. In 2020, we targeted 1.7 million Jewish voters in swing states and key districts with over 630,000 direct voter contacts and over 45 million views on JDCA PAC’s ads. In 2022, we helped Democrats defy historic midterm trends by making 1.6 million direct voter contacts, and JDCA PAC’s ads were seen 54.5 million times, helping Democrats expand their Senate majority. Check out how we make the difference for Democrats below.
JDCA is also advocating for our values and engaging with elected officials. We’ve engaged thousands of supporters and volunteers to attend phone and text banks, chapter activities, virtual educational events, and in-person gatherings. We’ve hosted Vice President Kamala Harris, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, and countless other Democratic leaders, who have all underscored the importance of our advocacy, organization, and movement. Together, we’ve demonstrated why the Democratic Party remains the political home of the vast majority of American Jews.
Now we’re laying the groundwork for 2024, building on our accomplishments to have an even greater impact in the next election. We’ve already endorsed President Joe Biden for re-election, and JDCA and JDCA PAC will continue to mobilize Jewish voters to defend the Senate, take back the House, and re-elect President Biden.
As I reflect on five years at JDCA, I am deeply grateful for your continued partnership, proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and looking forward to what we’ll continue to accomplish in the lead-up to 2024.
Thank you and Shabbat Shalom,
Halie Soifer
