Joe Biden is Good for the Jews
Earlier this week, we announced our endorsement of President Biden for re-election. Jewish Dems are proud to support his candidacy and we’re laying the groundwork to get out the Jewish vote. Join us by supporting our efforts to re-elect President Biden, committing to volunteering with us to engage Jewish voters in support of the Biden-Harris ticket, and sharing our talking points on how President Biden has delivered on issues of importance to Jewish Americans. These issues include: defending democracy, combating antisemitism and hate, protecting abortion rights, advancing gun safety reform, protecting our planet, health, and communities, and supporting the U.S.-Israel relationship. This is why Joe Biden is good for the Jews.
In a speech yesterday at the Museum of Tolerance in Jerusalem, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis falsely asserted that “Florida has led the way on combating the scourge of antisemitism.” This is simply not true.
Throughout his time in office, DeSantis has tolerated, accepted, and normalized right-wing extremists who have espoused white nationalist and antisemitic views, and his book-banning laws have forced the removal of Holocaust books in Florida schools. He was extremely slow to respond to neo-Nazis marching on the streets of Orlando, and his tepid response endangered the Jewish American community.
DeSantis had no business speaking at the Museum of Tolerance except to serve as an example of the intolerance normalized by the Republican Party in recent years. He said in his speech that in Florida “we treat antisemitism the way we treat racism,” which is true only in the sense that D
