Trump Dines with Antisemites. Our Work is More Important Than Ever Before.
Since our founding five years ago, the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) has built an impactful political movement fighting for our Jewish and Democratic values. Our efforts may be most apparent in election years, but they continue every day and every year, because our work never ends. As opposed to making a Giving Tuesday appeal, we’re asking for your support throughout the year so we can continue and expand our efforts advocating for our values, combating Republican extremism, and electing more Democrats to make real, lasting change.
While Americans celebrated Thanksgiving, the twice-impeached former president and Republican Party leader Donald Trump hosted antisemites Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and neo-Nazi leader Nick Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago. Given another opportunity to unequivocally disassociate themselves from Trump’s bigotry, nearly every Republican in Congress — and every GOP leader — has opted for silence.
Republican silence is complicity in Trump’s extremism and hate. As I wrote in Haaretz on Election Day, antisemitism is now a key part of the Republican agenda. For years, the GOP and the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) — our Republican counterparts — have recklessly ignored Trump’s antisemitic rhetoric.
By supporting JDCA, you are supporting our work, which represents the antithesis of the RJC. We proudly represent the overwhelming majority of Jewish voters and Jewish values, fighting GOP extremism, defending democracy, and supporting reproductive freedom, gun safety, and other issues of critical importance to Jewish voters.
Our democracy and rights remain under threat. Whether it means getting out the vote for next week’s Senate runoff in Georgia, supporting legislation in Congress that reflects our values or ensuring victory for Democrats in 2024, JDCA is on the front lines of the battle for the soul of our nation.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
Sincerely,
Halie Soifer
CEO, Jewish Democratic Council of America
