Dr. Oz is Supporting an Antisemitic Campaign
Today, JDCA joined a coalition of Jewish organizations denouncing Dr. Oz’s silence and complicity as Pennsylvania Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano spreads antisemitism and Christian nationalism.
This moment is too important to stay silent. Our statement calls out Dr. Oz for having “campaigned side-by-side with Doug Mastriano, who has repeatedly used antisemitic tropes and associated himself with white nationalist rhetoric and ideology. Despite the recent rise in antisemitism, Oz has refused to denounce Mastriano’s hate speech and instead continues to endorse and support him…Sensible voters of both parties must reject Mehmet Oz and the bigoted company he keeps.”
Doug Mastriano, his supporters, and even his family have used antisemitic rhetoric. Silence is complicity, and by supporting Mastriano, Dr. Oz is condoning antisemitism. Read the full statement and more in Haaretz and The Forward.
STATEMENT ON DR. OZ + MASTRIANO
Right-wing extremism and antisemitism are rising. We continue to wish Speaker Pelosi’s husband, Paul, refuah shlema after being violently attacked by a right-wing extremist who peddled antisemitic conspiracy theories. The GOP’s embrace of antisemitism and attacks on our democracy, as depicted in JDCA PAC’s latest ad, underscores the urgency of taking action to help Democrats win in the next 8 days.
Jewish Dems are hosting phone and text banks nearly every day through the election – talking to Jewish voters in the states where they will have the most impact. Join us, Democratic Jewish Outreach PA, and our Pennsylvanian allies tomorrow, Tuesday, November 1 at 7:00 pm ET as we call voters across Pennsylvania in support of John Fetterman and Democrats statewide. We will be joined by special guest Pennsylvania State House Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta to discuss the importance of getting out the vote in Pennsylvania.
