Reflecting on Four Years at JDCA

June 17, 2022

This month marks four years since I began as the first employee of the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA). In partnership with our growing staffBoard of DirectorsNew Leadership Council15 state chapters, our members and all of you, we have built a meaningful and impactful national movement for Jewish Dems.

As the only national organization exclusively dedicated to mobilizing Jewish voters in support of our Democratic values, JDCA has focused on two things — advocating for Jewish and Democratic values, and electing those who share such values. Thanks to you, since 2018, we’ve had remarkable growth and success in helping to flip the Senate, House and White House from red to blue. With your continued partnership, I’m confident we’ll succeed again in November, providing Jewish voters with the tools and resources they need to ensure Democrats win.

Thanks to your support, the Jewish vote is making a difference. In 2018, JDCA’s first election cycle, we played a key role in the Blue Wave to take back control of the House. JDCA endorsed 58 Senate, House, and gubernatorial candidates, flipping 28 seats and winning 84% of our races. In 2020, JDCA and JDCA PAC led an unprecedented national Jewish voter mobilization campaign to impact the outcome of the House, Senate, and presidential elections, which played a critical role in ensuring President Biden’s victory

In 2021, JDCA and JDCA PAC mobilized Jewish voters in key elections around the country, flipping both of Georgia’s Senate seats and control of the Senate, winning a critical Democratic primary in Ohio that underscored the importance of the Jewish vote, and rejecting the gubernatorial recall in California. Now our eyes are set on the 2022 midterms, and we’re building on our victories over the past four years to have an even bigger impact this November. In 2022, JDCA has already endorsed 62 candidates, and JDCA and JDCA PAC will mobilize nearly 2 million Jewish voters to elect more Democrats and expand our congressional majorities. In this critically important election year, JDCA and JDCA PAC are:

  • Endorsing House and Senate Democrats who align with our policy platform.
  • Mobilizing voters on behalf of our endorsees, including with digital ads.
  • Combating voter suppression and defending our democracy.
  • Empowering Jewish Democrats to take action on key policy issues.
  • Hosting voter engagement events, including forums in Democratic primaries.
  • Targeting 2 million Jewish voters in key districts and states.

There is a competitive Democratic primary in Wisconsin, and JDCA is excited to host an issues forum with the leading four Democrats in the election. The forum will provide candidates with an opportunity to highlight their views on issues of importance to Jewish voters. Join us on June 23, at 1:30 PM CST/2:30 PM EST for JDCA’s Wisconsin Democratic Senate Primary Issues Forum.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to continuing to work with you in the lead-up to November and beyond to advance our shared values and ensure Democrats win.

Shabbat Shalom,

Halie Soifer,
CEO, Jewish Democratic Council of America
